Editorial responsibility

Home Measure Lab uses the organization byline Home Measure Lab Editorial Team for guides and maintenance notes. We do not create fictional people, credentials or expert biographies to make content appear more authoritative than it is.

Utility before volume

We publish a calculator only when it solves a distinct project problem. We do not create near-duplicate pages solely to target keyword variations.

Visible assumptions

Coverage rates, waste factors, package sizes and other defaults are shown next to the inputs or in the notes. Users can replace adjustable defaults with product-specific values.

Calculation review

Each calculator is tested against worked examples and boundary cases before publication. When a formula changes, the tool, assumptions and explanatory copy are reviewed together. Product-specific values remain editable where the real label or supplier data should take priority. The Method & Evidence Center describes these release gates and evidence boundaries in more detail.

Guide and reference content

Supporting guides must answer a distinct measurement, material or planning question rather than restating a calculator page. They keep product-specific assumptions visible, use worked examples and reference tables where useful, and link back to the calculator that consumes the measurement.

Dates and meaningful updates

Visible update dates and sitemap last-modified dates are changed when the page receives a meaningful content, structured-data or internal-link update. We do not change dates solely to make old content look new.

Advertising & editorial independence

Advertising, if activated, does not determine calculator formulas, editorial conclusions, related-tool ordering or correction decisions. Paid inventory must remain visually distinguishable from Home Measure Lab utility and editorial content.

Formula provenance, source-backed assumptions, product-spec boundaries and release gates are documented in the Method & Evidence Center.

Corrections

If you find an error, contact us with the calculator or guide URL, inputs used where relevant, and the result or wording you expected. Material corrections are prioritized.
