What this center is for

Show the calculation boundary instead of asking users to trust a black box.

Home Measure Lab separates measured geometry, calculator-owned arithmetic, product assumptions and project decisions. A calculator may estimate a quantity; it does not silently choose a code requirement, structural detail, manufacturer instruction, supplier price or hidden plan dimension.

Where a product label, technical sheet, official reference or supplier value should control, the tool keeps that input visible and editable. The real project evidence takes priority over a generic default.

Evidence standard

Formula registry

Flagship calculators expose the arithmetic they own, a plain-language scope, a decision boundary and source evidence where product or rule inputs require it.

Evidence standard

Source registry

Primary or official sources are preferred for product coverage, published yields, installation assumptions and reference rules. User-entered values remain editable when the real project label or supplier data should control.

Evidence standard

Testing and boundary cases

Calculator releases are checked against worked examples, inventory contracts, source integrity, public routes and regression gates. A formula change is reviewed with the explanatory copy and result boundary.

Evidence standard

Corrections and change history

Material corrections should identify the affected route, inputs, observed output and supporting evidence. Dates and sitemap lastmod change only when a page receives a meaningful update.

Evidence standard

Browser-local project evidence

Project measurements, Visual Takeoff geometry, estimates and local project records stay in the browser unless the user deliberately exports, prints or submits information through a separate form.

Intent & price contract

Every calculator declares what kind of decision it supports.

All 224 calculators are classified as geometry, field markout, material quantity, material cost, project estimator or reference. Purchase and budget modules only appear when that intent supports them, and price fields remain user-entered evidence rather than live-market claims.

Release gates

What is checked before a major release is accepted

  • Release and migration state match the intended predecessor.
  • Changed files pass integrity checks.
  • Canonical inventory and truthful lastmod stay consistent with material changes.
  • Calculator, workflow, takeoff and project-workspace contracts keep their previous guarantees.
  • Public copy is checked for internal operational language that should not be shown to project users.
  • IndexNow is limited to the exact affected canonical set after production verification is GREEN.

Project evidence path

MEASURE → CALCULATE → PLAN → PRICE → BUY → BUILD → RECORD

The platform is designed so a result can remain traceable as the project moves forward. Measurements can stay browser-local, calculator assumptions remain visible, prices are user-entered, and field or closeout records remain separate observations rather than being rewritten into the original formula.

v16 search acquisition controls

Crawl freshness and query ownership are separate evidence layers.

Home Measure Lab tracks when a materially changed owner was last crawled by Google and does not treat IndexNow as Google recrawl confirmation. Query ownership maps one search family to one primary calculator while support guides and focused tools explain narrower assumptions without competing for the same broad intent.

  • Freshness: compare material-change date with stored URL Inspection evidence.
  • Ownership: one broad query family has one primary owner; support pages keep narrower language.
  • Publishing: GSC and competitor observations remain decision support only; no title, H1 or indexing action is automatically published.

v17 on-page intent controls

Useful modules should follow the page job, not a sitewide template.

Geometry and reference calculators stay focused on measured geometry instead of inheriting budget or purchase modules. Field-execution schedules remain only where the geometry is genuinely used for markout or layout; simple computation pages keep the visual measurement check without the extra execution boilerplate.

  • Intent pruning: geometry/reference pages are fail-closed against generic budget and purchase modules.
  • Uniqueness: the geometry cohort adds calculator-specific interpretation, measurement mistakes and a relevant next step instead of more generic filler.
  • Experiment safety: v15 winner and v16 query-owner title/H1 cohorts remain frozen until settled recrawl evidence supports another change.
