Measure the run at the cabinet line
Use the finished surface and the elevation where the cabinet fronts/boxes are being planned. Old walls can vary, so record enough field measurements to identify out-of-square or tapered conditions instead of assuming one dimension describes every height.
Reserve appliance and opening widths from real specifications
Ranges, dishwashers, refrigerators, doors and other interruptions are not cabinet boxes. Use the actual product or project opening requirement and keep it as fixed run so a nominal appliance name does not silently become an assumed clearance.
Keep fillers visible
Fillers close gaps, provide clearance or absorb imperfect walls, but their required size belongs to the selected cabinet system and field condition. Record planned left/right filler widths separately so they are not hidden inside a cabinet dimension.
Enter the exact cabinet schedule

Split corners and unlike elevations
Blind corners, diagonal corners, tall units and wall cabinets can consume run differently. Check each straight segment and elevation separately when the geometry or schedule changes.
Treat zero gap as an arithmetic check, not installation approval
A schedule can total the wall length and still need adjustment for scribes, end panels, door swing, hardware, appliance instructions or uneven walls. Use the result to catch dimensional inconsistencies before final manufacturer/installer review.
