Measure drywall joints as linear runs. Record tapered-edge and butt joints from the sheet layout, add inside corners that will receive tape, and keep patch or repair joints separate. Do not inflate the measured runs to account for waste; preserve the field basis and enter reserve only in the allowance field so the takeoff can be audited later.
Use the actual tape roll length printed on the selected product. Paper, mesh and specialty reinforcement products can differ in application and compatibility, so confirm the finishing system before purchase. Round only to whole rolls, keep the purchased surplus visible, and avoid assuming leftover tape can substitute for a different approved joint treatment.
