Equal-edge gaps
gap = (opening − count × picket width) ÷ (count + 1)
Used when equal clear spaces appear at both panel boundaries.
Flush-edge layout
gap = (opening − count × picket width) ÷ (count − 1)
Used when first and last pickets land flush at the two boundaries.
Maximum-gap mode
smallest whole count whose solved gap ≤ entered maximum
Back-solves the exact equal gap after choosing a whole picket count.
Center pitch
picket width + exact gap
Center-to-center spacing between adjacent equal-width pickets.
