Choose the right tool
You need exact door/window dimensions and other opening areas deducted from one measured wall face before coverage planning.

Use actual selected-product coverage.
Measure the wall face from the same finished reference surfaces used for the material takeoff. Record repeated doors or windows only when their dimensions are genuinely the same; otherwise calculate groups separately or total their measured area in the other-opening field. Do not automatically deduct every opening: some wall finishes, membranes or substrate layers may continue behind trim or adjacent details, so the deduction should match the layer being planned.
Use the net area as the geometry layer, then apply a visible cut/layout allowance appropriate to the selected material. Package coverage should come from the actual product and installation basis. This calculator is more precise than the generic Wall Area tool when opening sizes matter, but it still does not optimize panel seams, wallpaper drops, tile layout, sheet orientation or reusable offcuts.
