How to measure this project

Measure each wall face and subtract large openings while keeping corners, returns, piers and changes in bond pattern visible. Use actual brick face dimensions and the planned nominal mortar-joint width. If multiple brick sizes or special shapes are used, calculate each field separately because one average module can hide meaningful differences.

Before you buy materials

Brick quantity is only one part of masonry planning. Confirm manufacturer dimensions, pallet quantities, color/blend requirements, corner units and breakage expectations with the supplier. Mortar, reinforcement, flashing, ties, lintels and structural details require their own takeoffs and project-specific design. The waste allowance should reflect cuts and matching reserve, not compensate for unmeasured wall geometry.
