How to measure this project

Measure every slab edge that actually needs temporary straight form board. If an edge is formed by an existing wall, curb, previous pour or permanent form system, record that length as an exclusion rather than shrinking the slab dimensions. Curves, steps, thickened edges and elevation changes can require different materials or segmented takeoffs, so calculate those separately from a simple rectangular form run.

Before you buy materials

The quantity result is linear stock only. Board width/thickness, stake spacing, kickers, braces, release agent and fastening depend on the pour geometry and construction method. Enter the actual stock length you can buy and use a visible allowance for cuts or limited reuse. If boards will be reused across sequential pours, create separate phase takeoffs rather than assuming every linear foot must be purchased simultaneously.

No. It estimates straight form-board stock only.

What if one slab edge is against an existing wall?

Enter that measured edge as unformed length if temporary form board is not required there.

Can I reuse boards?

Yes, but reuse is a sequencing decision. Adjust the allowance or calculate separate phases based on the actual pour plan.
