Rounds to whole product packages.
Measure each exterior elevation and separate gable triangles, bump-outs or different heights when the average-height shortcut would hide meaningful geometry. Record major openings separately. For siding products with exposure dimensions, use the manufacturer coverage or calculate those zones with product-specific layout information.
Confirm actual package coverage, overlap/exposure, corner and trim systems, starter requirements and installation instructions. Waste can be driven by wall lengths, color matching and offcut reuse, so use an allowance that matches the specific elevations rather than a fixed generic number.
