How to measure this project
Measure the full area to be covered and split irregular beds into simple sections. Record fixed plants, paths and edges that influence strip layout. Enter the actual roll width and length from the selected product, then choose an overlap/cut allowance that reflects the installation instructions rather than a generic assumption.
Before you buy materials
Area math gives a useful first-pass roll count, but strip direction and seam placement can change offcut reuse. Round to whole rolls, then sketch how the roll width fits the site before buying. Pins, staples, seam methods, mulch cover and whether fabric is suitable for the intended planting system are separate project decisions.
