Straight-grid module
actual tile face + planned grout joint
Used to evaluate feasible centered phases.
Equal edge piece
[usable field − (N − 2) × tile face − (N − 1) × grout joint] ÷ 2
For a phase with N physical tile positions and at least two positions.
Centerline phase
odd N = tile-centered; even N = grout-joint-centered
Auto mode compares feasible parity choices and favors the larger equal edge piece.
