Measure the room first

Match the material rule
Paint depends on coats and coverage; tile, laminate and flooring depend on waste and package coverage; carpet also depends on roll layout that should be confirmed with a supplier.
Round only at the purchase step
Keep measured values precise through the calculation, then round boxes, pieces or gallons only when the product is actually sold in whole units.
